FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY CHOOSE MISSCHIVERS PETS?
We take pride in the fact that we are a small business based in Cambridge which enables us to perfect and personalise our services to each one of our clients and their pets. All of our personal pet carers have had many years of experience caring for dogs, cats and other pets, treating all the animals in their care as if they are their own.
Our beliefs in environmentalism and our connection with nature and animals are strongly reflected in our work.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK AT MISSCHIVERS PETS AND WHO WILL CARE FOR MY PET?
MissChivers Pets has a small but passionate and dedicated team of five. Aimee the owner/operator, Ash and Jessica are our trainer/walkers, and we have Evie and Chloe as our primary cat/pet sitters. After you have contacted us with your service requests and you are booked into your free meet and greet or zoom consultation, you will then be introduced to Aimee and your personal pet carer. We try to always match a pet with a trainer, walker or sitter who will be best suited to providing their care! Your pets may have the privilege of meeting the whole pack, giving you extra flexibility. This decision is made based on a number of factors including scheduling preferences, your location, and the age, size, and health status of your pet(s).
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO DOG TRAINING AND GENERAL PET CARE?
We believe that all domesticated animals thrive on human companionship based on trust and connection, just like us.
Therefore, our motto is with your pet(s) at the forefront of our interests. We believe we are all connected with nature and all beings and we treat the pets in our care equally and with calmness and kindness.
Any force, pressure or dominance in any aspect of care and training is not tolerated. We firmly believe this does not work in any form. This only increases fear and loss of connection.
Timing is crucial. We allow the pets in our care as much time as they need to feel confident with us and their environment. We wait to see the signs that they are ready for the next stage. Pets can not possibly learn when they are distracted or fearful.
Therefore it's obvious to say that we train all our pets through cooperation, kindness, calmness, trust and connection using positive reinforcement.
DO YOU OFFER PUPPY TRAINING CLASSES?
MissChivers Pets does not currently offer puppy classes although we plan to offer this service in the future. We offer 121 personal puppy training packages which we think are extremely beneficial for new and/or experienced puppy owners and their new family members. We also believe puppy classes are very important and therefore we will do our best to recommend local and available classes around Cambridge.
